Registration begins at 9.00am. All competitors must register before they can compete. Each competitor will receive an event T-Shirt and an identity sign for the front of the top they will be wearing when they race.

All competitors must wear their identity sign in all races. All podium placed finishers of the races must wear their Octathalon T-Shirts on the Podium.

At 9.15 there is an optional briefing for competitors when the head judge will be explaining the rules to them. If you choose not to attend this, you do so at your own risk as you may miss important information. If you have seen the video rules on this website, you will know what is required, allowed and not allowed.

Racing begins at 9.30am with the Mens individual Cup event. We are on a sharp deadline this year and there will be no waiting for those who are late.

No one other than competitors or judges will be allowed on the course this year. Spectators will only be allowed to watch from the seated area. Any photos or videos taken may only be used for private purposes as the WOA holds all the rights to these at the event.

The Men's event this year has 8 mens open seeds and 4 mens masters seeds. The draw will be done so as to separate the top masters and the top mens open seeds in the first round.

The Mens Masters this year will have their own final. Only the 4 fastest Masters will get into this final. The Masters will have 2 chances to get into the Masters final if they manage to get through the first round. If they do get through by right, but choose not to race and to wait to see if their current time is fast enough to get them into the final, then their place in the quarter final will be given to the fastest 3rd place person (Non Master) from all the Mens Open first round races. If more than one Master wishes to opt out of the quarter final race, then the next fastest 3rd place person will get their quarter final place. This repeats until all quarter final round places are full.

If one of the Masters gains a place in the semi finals by right, they can opt to either then go on to do the Mens open event or the Mens Masters event - but not both. Should this situation arise, and the Master chooses not to go into the Mens Open semi finals, then that place will be given to the next fastest person from the quarter final races that did not get into the Semi Finals. This will continue until all the semi final places are full with the places given to those with the next fastest times in the quarter finals, irrespective of their finishing position in their race. If there is more than one replacement in either the quarter finals or semi finals then the next round places taken will be by the fastest time replacing the fastest master in the place they had qualified into by right.
