The Octathalon is a race over eight gym exercises and has evolved from out of 12 years of gym competitions of all sorts in the UK, of which the pinnacle has now become the Octathalon Cup. The Octathalon Cup has been running since 2005. The Octathalon Cup event has been running every year since 2005. The 2008 event's main sponsor is POWER HORSE with Suunto also helping with prizes and in the heart rate monitoring of the event. This is unique to the sport as it allows all competitors to see their opponents heart rates live during the racing.
The thing that makes the Octathalon unique amongst all sports in the world is the instant feedback the equipment gives you in training and in competing and in how your body is responding to a workout.
