This is the new site for the UKXTA - The UK Cross Training Association

The UKXTA was set up in 2004 to run and oversee the development of the sport of Octathalon in Great Britain. It is a self regulated body offering unique qualifications and is acting under license to the World Octathalon Association. It was also set up as the governing body for all other approved cross training events in the UK

Not all competitions are approved by the UKXTA and only those events that are well run and conform to the UKXTA's rules, limits and guidelines are promoted by the UKXTA

Where organisers are happy to sign up to an agreement with us to comply to these rules limits and guidelines we would be happy to include them in our calendar and promote their event to our members and audience. If any potential organiser want to contact us in this respect please contact us and we will send you details.

 

 

2010 plans - Octathalon Variations

Fresh thinking and new opportunities have allowed us to create a new program of Octathalon racing which are now being planned for 2010. These four events will be held at gyms around the UK.

Time based points will be given for each event and the winner will be the person with the most points at the end of the year. One run through of each the course on the day, unlike the Octathalon Cup which is a knock out event, with your best three points to count. Timing and points are the same for each type of course.

If you want you club to be one that hosts one of these races, just let us know as we are in early negotiations at the moment.

The Octathalon Variations use the same equipment and exercises as the Octathalon but vary the ending order of the last 4 exercises. This will provide a nice challenge for all Elite Octathaletes.
